        ... is futuristic, unearthly, and immediately attention getting. For those with an active imagination, it looks like a domed metal spacecraft has landed in the middle of Oklahoma City. Which was what the architect and builder intended; a modern and technological marvel of a building, a real "traffic stopper" for it's time. Like most properties, it has been bought and sold over the years. Apparently one of its previous owners had plans to demolish it however the community ...

        ... and not much to the town except for a refurbished gas station. Nonetheless, I did kiss the Blarney :-)

        We made to to the KOA between Elk City and Clinton at about 6pm.. after dropping my dinner on the floor, we are kicking back enjoying a glass of wine and watching the Memorial Day Concert.

        Tomorrow, it's 320 miles to home (for me, Beth still has to fly back to Portland).. we are already planning where we will eat when we get to NW Arkansas ;-)

        ... zone. So this contributed to getting in pretty late (7:30) to our KOA. Fortunately we had already made a reservation and they had a site waiting for us. We had a quick dinner of cold cut sandwiches.

        ... the kids movie "Cars" so there was a lot of memorabilia about - walls to sign and things to read.

        The owner of the café had her 3 sons waiting tables - and they were great kids and breakfast was great.

        Sometimes Route 66 is parallel to the freeway and other times, miles away. The lack of signs can be a problem but there's always the locals to ask who are so helpful. Some of the roads were great and others ...
