Wow...that was hard. That is the part I knew I was going to HATE!! Saying goodbye to my terrific kids. Here we are...DIA, waiting for our first plane to Washington DC. From there we head to Rome. First mistake of the day, I didn't get my boarding pass to Rome. Todd did, I didn't know that 2 were going to be printed. Ugh. TSA said we could get one in Washington. No big deal. ... I traveled here -- major cattle feeding operations have sprung up on the road to Denver. Raced a two-mile-long coal train and won! Negotiated Denver freeway traffic for the first time with a little help from Google Maps Navigation. Yay Google! Holiday Inn is much better quality than in olden days. ... much-quicker-when-downhill, trail over the road. I was probably back at the Durango in less than an hour, and once again traffic, this time on the Boulder Turnpike, was very heavy and the going was slow.

I arrived home, tired but satisfied at witnessing a key stage in this year's USA Pro Challenge and proud of having made it all the way to the Sunrise Amphitheatre to catch the finish. Only one more stage left: tomorrow's individual time-trial in downtown Denver.
