We took off directly into the rising sun, doing a quick 20-minute hop over to Greybull, WY, where gas was a dollar a gallon cheaper than at Cody. As we circled in to land, we could see a boneyard of former water bombers, planes taken from military use and re-purposed to drop water on wildfires.

Our accommodation for the night was another historic B&B with a chatty owner, but on a much grander scale. This one had about 12 rooms, including one in the tower accessed by a narrow spiral staircase, which we got upgraded too. Not the greatest place considering Donelle's vertigo and the severe storms, but it was good even with the warnings interrupting our TV ...

We flew to Chicago on Friday (May 2) and spent Saturday morning and early afternoon with our oldest son, Daniel, his wife, Abby, and their two children before driving home.
