    Once again we drove through Hendon, another town in the family history on our way to East Knoyle from where William Ford & his family were sent back to Chicklade because of the "Poor Law"
    Then finally back here to Mere, so we did quite a bit of Family History Tripping but did not find out any extra information, it was just good to be in places where I had family 200 plus years ...

    Early start this morning, on the road by half past seven. Traffic was really heavy for the first half hour after leaving Poole. We arrived at Stonehenge a little after nine. After grabbing some breakfast in the coffee shop we headed into the exhibition hall before catching the bus out to the Stonehenge rock formation. Quite amazing, Steve has always wanted to see Stonehenge ...

    ... our weeks of travelling we have done prior to now, we are both in need of some relaxation on board the Royal Princess.

    On our way to breakfast we asked the man at the Front desk about disposing of our old bag and they were happy to keep our old case in their storage room as the front desk man said often they have people come back from cruises who have over-indulged at the shops and need another case. Yes … please … take it and recycle it! ...

    We are very nearly on board. We have got our cabin card and been through security. We stayed in the Holiday Inn as usual and as usual one of the lifts was not working. The other lift only takes six people which is about two people with the luggage. Totally inadequate I must say but a very convenient hotel. At 6am we looked out of our window and the Balmoral was just docking and much to my pleasure was starboard to dock so could at least see our cabin ...
