... it was like nothing we had seen before. Ginny especially loved this place, she still hasn't stopped raving about it. It was an incredible experience to walk amongst these trees - most trees in this park have been standing for between 600 and 800 years, with the oldest having been in its place for 1200 years. ... to be in an outside pool that is warmer than a jacuzzi.
After a quick stop in Death Valley we were on to Vegas. Not too long a drive, we were staying at the Luxor which was in the shape of a pyramid with the rooms going at a slant up the sides of the hotel. We went to see Penn and Teller who did some amazing magic tricks, but the show was a lot shorter than we thought. Marie got talking in he line to a lady called Catherine and her husband Chris. They lived just north of San Francisco in a redwood forest. Chris is a tennis coach and they have a business running a wine club. We chatted to them over lunch. ...

Thankfully we had sufficient goodies in the chili bin to make lunch and watch the kinder kids have fun. In the shade it was chilly, but the sun was bright and hot.

We drove to Donald and Lilians at the arranged time, and were given the option of rooms. I opted for the one downstairs as the other bed was too small for us!

They had a prior engagement, but Ben had given us Kate's number, so ...
