    Started the day with a stop at the Corn Palace in Mitchell. It’s like a huge school gymnasium with a stage for shows, and all the murals, inside and out, are made with various colours of corn cobs. Very cool actually.

    After that it was pretty much driving all day with a few rest stops … and that’s it. Mostly I like the prairies - the different crops, the wetlands, the dips, humps and hollows and ...

    And lastly, In the town of Darwin, Minnesota, is the quirkiest of all. One man has assembled the worlds largest ball of twine. It weighs in at 70 tons and is just about the only attraction in town. It has been certified by the Guiness Book of Records - so if you want to spend the next 45 years doing nothing but rolling up twine, you too might be able to beat this record.
