... keeping us awake. This morning we awoke to rural sounds and smells. The tractor was mowing the paddock behind the house and the local cowshed was mucking out, phew!!!! With the thunder storm overnight (no rain) we were treated to the views of snow streaked mountains all around... We were surprised as previously they had been covered in cloud. ... We arrived at the first lake and then encountered snow. The Squadra kept pushing on till it became obvious that only pierre, flinty, james and Steiners being the only ones who had hiking waterproof shoes could continue to the end. it took over 5.5 hours with stops but was fantastic. A late lunch followed by coffe at pont st martin and walk over roman bridge. back to graglia ...
