Approximately 2 years ago Nicholle and I made our way to UKSA (United Kingdom Sailing Academy) on The Isle of Wight. This was where this whole journey began. We instantly became close friends, and supported each other through all the trials and tribulations of the fabulous yachting industry! Maybe a year ago we both got talking about how much we have always wanted to travel, and finally the dream is coming true. Bit ...
Market Deeping, England, United Kingdom nicandshelleyThe last few weeks have been really manic while we've prepared to put our furniture into storage and get our property ready for letting. Thankfully, most of the hard work is completed and now we can concentrate on getting ready for our travels. It's difficult to believe that we leave in just under a week!
We fly into Delhi on Monday, arriving very early ...

never-ending collection of Ed Hardy jeans, caps and shirts are a great sight to see and a possession that others see you wearing enviously.

It was really sad leaving Israel. The flight back to Heathrow was about 4 hours by Jumbo then we bussed it back to Cambridge an hour late after I mixed up the bus tickets. We reached the flat in Cambridge around 1 am exhillerated but exhausted. What a brilliant two weeks!

We arrived in Oxford and Dean and I had our first taste of budget travelling - the Oxford Backpackers Hostel. Between the dingy walls with peeling paint and the dirty, old, broken-windowed room, I did start to feel a little homesick. Not helped by the fact that I lost Mum's rather expensive cashmere gloves (I blame the English weather for that one otherwise I wouldn't have been wearing gloves in the middle of Summer! - Sorry Mum!!) and it ...
... the locals being the most friendliest people I've met since Australia; the fantastic University buildings; the Weeping Willows drinking from the river; the diversity of it's market (Caribbean cakes for dinner!) and just a nice ambiance about the place. Can't rate it enough...and a 100% better than it's rival, Oxford, which we visited soon after for work reasons ...
Cambridge, England, United Kingdom darrenstravels... had joked around about him having a sign up for me at the airport that says Welcome Back Me Vee (because he calls me his Vee). So it was a piece of cardboard with a big Me Vee on it, but the poor love was feeling pretty ill and held the sign up upside down, not bad for a 6am start for him! Max was pretty ill with the flu, so I am surprised he actually dragged himself out of bed. We made our way to Cambridge where we met up with his Mum and Dad and brother ...
Peterborough, England, United Kingdom vhenschkeWow, shed loads of organisation in a week; of course I didn't do much before, thats just the way it is for everyone, right?? Visa, Tickets, Insurance, Bank Accounts, Contacts, Backups, Stuff to take, medications, setting up this blog, translations for Thailand (and Oz), references, budgetting, birth certificates and about 3 medium sized trees worth of paper, and I haven't even left yet!! Getting slightly restless, too many things running round my head for the normal ...
