... but since we planned on driving back to Cape Coral, we did a quick tour. We then visited the USS DRUM, which is also onsite. Thankfully I will never have to travel in a submarine. The alarm went off at 5:00 am and we were off and running. Sandwiches were made for the journey,showers taken and bags off into the car. We left Cape Coral at 5:45 am. Shortly after that, we were at the battleship memorial on Mobile Bay. The battleship USS Alabama, is moored there in the fashion of the Queen Mary in Long Beach. I had seen it before in my previous motorcycle trips to this neck of the woods, but for one reason or another, never stopped.

... out into a long stretch of tall trees for some more miles. We stopped for a comfort break at 8.50 am until 9.20 am. How you need to take all these breaks and for long periods I will never know. I get the feeling they are trying to pad out the trip. I would rather get to the destination to enjoy it. We only have 15 minutes before we arrive at the National Naval Aviation Museum.
