Day 6: Rain, rain go away

... no downtown strip to walk in so we might as well head back to the cabin. Passing by a grocery store, we couldn't resist a quick pit stop for more food (we were getting nervous our supplies wouldn't hold out until the next day).

We ended up back at the cabin and decided to spend the night enjoying our cabin, each other, and engaging in a fierce battle of Mexican Train Dominoes.

with Lynn’s tenacity, hiking the entire 2.5 mile loop like a professional!

After a nice PB and J lunch in the picnic area, we decided
to check out another hike in the area, which takes you to a swinging bridge. The
bridge is part of the Benton McKay trail which travels over 300 miles and

... On the 3rd attempt, the fire was ginormous!!

Then Matt and Esen had us cheering and hollering as they put on some cool dance routines for our entertainment - proving they inherited the dancing gene from their fathers.

We absolutely loved the freedom to make as much noise as we wanted and not have to worry about neighbors. So wonderful to have our own secluded space.

Day 2: Super duper wild tube ride

... to the top of the creek where we would start our tubing adventure. The first set of rapids were pretty rough and a couple of us fell out (Phan and myself). We quickly discovered it was better not to tether the little ones to the adults as that affected balance and made everyone more likely to get stuck or fall off. ... br> Phan did fall out of his raft once and I almost fell out when I was too busy trying to take photos to concentrate. It was super fun but very exhausting as we had to paddle very hard to get through the rapids without getting stuck. Was tempted to rent the 2-person duckies instead of the raft because they are supposed to be easier to maneuver - but stuck with the cheapest option.
