We arrived here at Yonah Mountain on Sunday 9/22 The trip up was nice and the roads werent bad. When we arrived the campground Hosts (Bill and Norma) met us at the front and took us in a golf cart to pick out a site. This is another awesome campground. Well maintained and very nicely laid out. Got up at 7am, and on the road at 830am for Helen, Georgia. A little overcast this morning, but it cleared up nicely!
Gorgeous on Rt 19 in the Nantahala Forest Region; riding by the river and watching folks floating down on tubes.
136 miles down, and my shoulders were killing me from all the fun curves. I need a lighter bike....oh wait! I HAVE a lighter bike! I would love to ride the Ducati around down here.

... on a Monday morning so there wouldn't be too many other bikes. We had the ride to ourselves and only encountered one car right near the end - Paul was so pleased about that.
We visit the Smoky Mountain Harley Davidson dealership and buy a couple of shirts to remember the dragon.
We then rode around the Great Smoky Mountains National Park by taking the Foothills Parkway road, then US 321, stopping at Cades Cove for a picnic ...

We then took a lovely scenic ride to view some waterfalls along Moonshiner 28 road which took us from North Carolina across the border into South Carolina. White Water Falls is 411 feet high and is the highest waterfall east of the Rockies. Bridal Veil Falls has a road underneath it so you can ride under it. Fred and Mary Beth served up another good breakfast: fresh corn fritters, a veggie sauté, and a fruit bowl. This morning another couple joined us, but the conversation was not as relaxed or lengthy.
I think the four of us think alike at such times. It's over, so let's get back home forthwith.
