The plan was to go to a local pub further up in the village that we saw this morning, but I felt a bit queasy so went for a lie down while they went and explored. I woke up after a nap at 7.30pm to go meet them for a dinner reservation we had at a restaurant across the road.

... It was in the town of Allithwaite, a coastal town not far from Grange over Sands. It was dark when we arrived due to the traffic, 8:30 instead of our expected 5:30. It didn’t really matter just a little more tired, particularly for Ro. The cottage was fantastic. Our own private place, so well equipped, it even had a washing machine! Stow on the Wold for my evening, a chocolate box Cotswolds town. One final thought-who the hell decided that such a hot day was a good day to advertise a pet shop sale-20% off-by dressing two people (at least) in furry costumes and putting them on local junctions? They were dancing, so I guess they had taken to it ...
