The Cotswolds brings to mind picturesque mill towns, hill towns, magnificent 17th century manor houses, and market towns; but our fondest memories of the Cotswold would be our B&B in Stow-on-the-Wold. Owners, "Jimmy" and Carol Brown, provided daily entertainment at breakfast, and would leave us roaring with laughter. Jimmy is a trivia pursuit kind of guy and loved to be stumped by our "foreign" factoids. The ...

... north to Broadway which is a very handsome village and it is known as a bit of an artsy village with a few galleries and craftwork but we didn’t see any of that and settled for a nice café where we had tea. Into Christ Church next to see the stairs where Harry and his friends are greeted ...

But we did visit some strange named places. In our little, tiny Ka. Stow-on-the-Wold, Bourton-on-the-water, Winchcombe, The Slaughters, Upper Slaughter, Lower Slaughter, Moreton-on-Marsh, Chipping Camden, Broadway, each place slightly different than the last but oh so beautiful, so hard to describe. As a ...

... crowded, so we head out into the country roads to look for a nice place to have a picnic lunch. And we find it – a low stone wall, in the shade of a nice tree, with a superb view across a valley to rolling hills and towns in the distance. We stop in Stow-on-Wold, one of the towns we could see from our picnic spot, and wander into the town hall where there is an antiques fair being held – more to see if there is any interesting architecture or decor features in ...
