Where was I? Oh yes, just made it through the last exhibit by 5, then went for a walk down the Main Street. Day 30 We started the day with a memorial service for 9/11. It was actually a nice service without too much of the hand on heart stuff. We are at Burlington. A city/town of 53 churches and a population of 16,000. At one time it must have been a very prosperous towns some of the old houses are very pretty. I'm here in southeast Iowa, preparing for the next set of travels. So far, that has entailed visits with friends, leisure reading, and making lists. Once in a while, I cross something off the list.

Some of those list items include catching up on the blog posts, back to Glacier at a minimum. I will send a notification to "subscribers" or post on the facebook. For those of you ...

... UIC Hospital (Iowa City) recovering from a major surgery to remove a cancerous tumor growing out of his humerus (not funny). After the removal, they replaced the now-hollow, swiss-cheesed bone with a stainless steel rod core and joint inside a cadaver bone, and pieced the nerves back together. Science. My brother and I rode with my grandma to join my mother (already there) to keep him company. We spent all day in his room, marveling at his ...
