Checked into our Uber Modern B&B in the old walled city of York. The friendly owner has gone all out in redecorating our room in a Japanese theme and electronics and buttons galore (press button shower, smart 3D TV, silent fridge etc). ... type stop of the day and we drove on to York for our final night of the tour! We went out to a really nice restaurant/bar for dinner. I don't think I've ever seen someone drink as much as one of the guys did on our tour that night in such a small amount of time! Even the bartender was impressed and gave him a complimentary special shot which he had never seen someone finish before and of course our guy did... Even ...
... We then headed down to the Undercroft and Crypt. The history behind this cathedral is amazing being built on a Roman fortress. It dates back to the 12th century and was built in stages and maintained beautifully. It is a museum and church all rolled into one. Hours passed so quickly and by the time we headed out it was raining and we were ready for a very late lunch. Headed home on the bus at 5pm exhausted but having thoroughly enjoyed the beautiful city of ...
... sheep...... the Swalesdale variety.... They have funny speckled black faces, curly horns and dark speckled legs and they think they have the right of way over everything, everywhere.. Funny thing is....they do!!!
Guess what... our research has paid off. we have found the perfect eccles cake. It was hiding in a little bakery at Hawes in the Wensleydales. We ate it with relish, it even beat the ones we ate in York.

... speed limit. We felt like we were back in Europe with the BMWs, Audis and Mercs speeding past. Although there are signs for speed cameras no one seems to care!
