Historical Traveler Reviews of Solar Soler Bed And Breakfast Buenos Aires
Pretty, but mosquito-infested
from momokima
Lovely looking space and quite charming, but we much preferred Garufa, where we stayed for the other two nights of our time in BA. The main but glaring problem with Solar Soler was the swarm of mosquitoes that plagued us through the night. We didn't sleep at all. The staff was not particularly concerned when we mentioned the problem, either -- told us that that was what BA was like in the hot season. However, Garufa had NO mosquitoes on the previous two nights, when it was just as hot and humid...
Excellent B&B with Superb Staff

Solar Soler has everything that you look for in a hotel or B&B. It has a great location in Palermo Hollywood: it is a quick walk to two different D Line stops on the Subte and is within a few blocks of dozens of excellent restaurants. The rooms are bright, clean, and sufficiently spacious (especially for BA). Of course, as previous reviews have stated, what really makes Solar Soler such an exceptional B&B is the excellent staff. Any time we needed anything, such as extra towels in the bathroom, they took care of it immediately. They not only helped us make/confirm reservations and gave recommendations for food/entertainment, they also spent time sharing with us about life in Buenos Aires and Argentina. (As with the previous reviewer, we were also fortunate to have Ernesto share his guitar music with us.) When we return to Buenos Aires, this is the only place we will stay!
The Best Staff Ever!
from dbonner
This bed and breakfast is located in the up and coming Palermo Hollywood district of Buenos Aires. The view from my room windows showed five new high rise condo/apt. buildings under construction. New restaurants are opening all the time and the area is beginning to have a great vibe. In only a few years this will be "the place to be" in Buenos Aires.
It is about a 10 minute walk to the subway where you can connect to most areas of the city. The entire place has been very recently redone and the rooms are very clean and safe. The beds are very confortable. The air conditioning works well.
The most amazing thing about this bed and breakfast is the staff and their true interest in helping you to enjoy your stay to the maximum. Whether it was recommeding a nice restaurant for dinner, giving advice on how to get tickets to an event or just explaining how to ask for something at the local pharmacy, they really showed that they care. Ernesto, the night staff person on two evenings serenaded us with beautiful guitar music played in the local style (see photo).
Throw in the very positive exchange rate and you have the makings of an excellent holiday at real bargain prices. A real alternative to hotels.
The Absolute Best B and B!!

Your visit to Argentina will only get better with a stay at the Solar Soler Bed and Breakfast. We stumbled onto this gem just by cruising the internet and it turned out to be the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed in!
Solar Soler is located in the beautiful Palermo Hollywood district along the tree lined streets of Soler and Bonpland. You are situated close to many fantastic restaurants and shops of both the Hollywood and SoHo districts of Palermo, yet just far enough to where the noise of busy Buenos Aires will not disturb your sleep. The beds were VERY comfortable, the rooms nicely decorated, and the staff some of the most friendly and courteous bunch you will meet in Buenos Aires. Not only will they do everything from calling a taxi for you, to making reservations at a restaurant or tango show, but they will also sit down with you just to talk and to answer any questions you may have of the area. They express a genuine desire to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, including leaving the continental breakfast out later than the posted hours for those that had a long night the night before!
We cannot say enough good things about Solar Soler, but actions speak louder than words. Whenever we return to Buenos Aires, the ONLY place we will stay will be the quaint bed and breakfast tucked along Soler Street. Thanks for a memorable wedding anniversary trip!
Awesome B&B in Palermo Hollywood

My friend and I spent 6 nights at the largest room (The Suite) of this welcoming B&B in late April. The staff are amazing. Everyone speaks fluent English, and are super helpful in giving you an orientation of the city, making reservations for restaurants or shows, or just researching tourist-related information for you. High-speed internent is available, and there's a PC with internet on the ground floor, there for any visitor to use for free. The breakfast is great (fresh-baked crossants, toast, cheese, ham, jam, butter, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, coffee, tea, and, best of all, fresh-squeezed orange juice). Even through the formal breakfast hours were 8-11 am, the staff kept food out for late sleepers like me. The place has 7 rooms, which are kept very neat and clean. Rooms have air conditioners, TVs, and private baths. The B&B is located on a quiet tree-lined street in close proximity to restaurants and shops. Palermo Soho (and plaza Serano) is about 15 minute walk from the hotel. One can catch a cab on one of nearby streets or walk a couple blocks to large Avs Stanta Fe or Juan B. Justo. There is a small pharmacy near by, as well as several larger pharmacies and kosks on Ave Santa Fe. There is also a bank just a few blocks away at the corner of Bonpland and Ave Santa Fe. Stay at Solar Soler during your visit to BA. You won't regret it!
Comfy BA Stay- Solar Soler
from MDS99
Loved the Solar Soler for it's comfy, clean, quiet, and smoke free (!) accomodations. The attentive staff went over the top helping us get settled in, fed (great breakfast), and around the city. No complaints at all. Right for the price.
Highly recommended

This B&B is bright and sunny and comfortable, and the staff are excellent. They go out of their way to make guests feel at home. At least two of the staff are fluent in English, and all are friendly and helpful. Good breakfast served from 8-11:30, and several days we were there they kept food available later than that for people who were sleeping late. Excellent location in a neighborhood with lots of good restaurants.
Really glad we found this place

This place was a great find. We were in Palermo without reservations and looking to save money, and Solar Soler fit the bill. The place was clean, and the staff was very helpful. It's a nice space too with a cute kitchen and courtyard. We stayed in a few different rooms, and I think it makes sense to pay a little more for the bigger rooms because the smaller ones are kind of tiny. The free internet was a nice touch too.
Cosy b&b in Buenos Aires
from WGF_BROCK
Excellent value for money at this small b&b in Palermo close to the subway. The rooms are excellent value including air con and TV, and the whole place
is spotless. The staff are very helpful and friendly. The breakfast is more than adequate with a good choice.
A good base for exploring Buenos Aires, and close to the internal airport.
Suprise behind the door!

What a find in Palermo Hollywood! We arrived 2 days ago and have been very happy with our modest accommodations in this quaint and hidden B&B. The 3 hostesses are helpful and very available for directions, advice, and reservations. My family and I feel very safe in this neighborhood which reminds us of the East Village in NYC. There are plenty of cafes to choose from only blocks away. The El Trapiche was full of portenos or locals. The food was excellent.
At Solar Soler, breakfast is served each morning and includes an array of fresh fruit and pastries/breads with juice and coffee. We have enjoyed our meals in the courtyard which is surrounded by blooming roses and other tropical plants. The rooms are simple but relaxing. I have a queen and a twin in my room which rents for 210 pesos/US$ 70. The queen only room rents for US$ 60. There are cheaper rooms but I have not seen them-US45. The rooms have hot water and cozy beds. We have 3 more nights and we look forward to more Buenos Aires tomorrow. Enjoy!
