Not all that much InglÚs being spoken there, but enough to get the job done. I think they liked my very lame attempts to habla Espanol with them! After Hertz had let us down so badly, Signature saved the day for us: props to them and I'd encourage anyone to give them a try.
Once we managed to get a car, we headed a little west of Miami to do an Everglades Swamp Tour. We'd done ...
... to the beach. Some swimming, digging and volleyball before a walk along the beach and then down Ocean drive for lupper at TGI Fridays. We then drove up the coast on the A1A past Sunny Isles, Golden Beach, Hollywood Lakes then on up towards Fort Lauderdale. Stunning. Some amazing properties enroute. Great beaches that you could spend days on. Then back for the night. Bath, tv, ice-cream and ...
... a walk on the trail around the park and I stretched and did some exercises to wind down a bit. Our lunch was a good one, so I didn't eat any supper. The huge "Thick as a Brick" corned beef and cheese on light rye sandwich held on very well. Lynn had some clam chowder, while Rich had a Cuban sandwich. Lisa, the healthy one, had an interesting salad consisting of several wholesome items, which I have chosen to forget.

Anyway, our first friend was a boy from Slummies and he was basically free wheeling for the duration of his varsity holidays. Can't say we interacted too much (curious bystanders might even be led to believe that we didn't even make eye contact), but it was enough for us to feel proud of ourselves. ...

I headed straight to the salad bar. The amazing thing about a cruise ship, is that you can eat as well or as poorly as you choose. If you want to go back for seconds, thirds, fourths, etc...no one will stop you. If you want to only eat dessert or ice-cream or french fries, it is your choice. However, there are also wonderful, tasty, healthy options. I avoided the desserts, and had ...

Historical Traveler Reviews SoBeYou Bed & Breakfast Miami Beach
SoBe You is the perfect B & B. Tropical setting on a quiet residential street. Sparkling clean and comfortable rooms. Sumptuous beds with wonderfully fresh-smelling bed linens and towels. Exquisite breakfasts -many organic ingredients - served from 9 to 10:30 - with hot, fresh, aromatic coffee and numerous teas also available earlier. Best of all the owners are exceptionally accommodating and friendly and are knowledgeable on a vast array of subjects as well as the local happenings. A pleasing variety of music accompanies the meal and may be enjoyed later while taking a dip in the pool or relaxing in the poolside tropical setting. There are beautifully furnished rooms available in the house or across the pool in one of the separate units. I love the nearby park - one block away. It has well kept pools including a lap pool and children's pool, gated playground, tennis and basketball courts, plenty of benches and a great walking corridor to multiple destinations. The B & B was refurbished and re-opened by the new current owners in late 2005. I visited in February for a week and returned there three more times this year, 2006.
SoBeYou was the perfect place to relax and unwind at the end of a week long business trip.
We have just returned from a weekend at SoBeYou.
Sobeyou was great!
Sobeyou was a great experience. A quiet layed back affordable b&b.
We walked the easy 5-6 blocks to the beach. On street parking was easy with passes given to guests. Our room was clean and the beds were comfortable and luxurious. Breakfasts were creative and tasty. 9 AM coffee could have been earlier but Starbucks is nearby. The pool/spa is really not swimeable but is pleasant to cool off in and sit around. The hostesses are friendly and aim to please. A hidden away oasis. We would return in a minute!
Early November we stayed at the SoBeYou B&B for 6 nights and had a wonderful stay. We were looking for a small hotel "close to everything and away from it all" and this is exactly what SoBeYou B&B represents.
I followed the link [--] website and requested my reservation dates and room type in Aug. 2006. I received a prompt email reply from an employee of So Be You Bed & Breakfast Inn, South Beach, FL. with a request to contact her by phone to discuss my room options. She was very helpful and friendly and recommended a room with a higher price than I had originally requested, but after talking with her I agreed that it would better suit my needs. She informed me that the price is normally $225 per night but, since she recommended the upgrade and since our stay was so many months away, (Feb 16-20, 2007), that she wanted to extend a rate of $190 per night. I agreed and she emailed me a confirmation. I recently received a less than pleasant voicemail on Nov. 14 from So Be You, informing me that the rate is $225 a night for the room I booked, that the rate I was given was a mistake and that I could basically take it or leave it. I returned the voicemail and followed with quite a few emails pleading my case of the written and verbal confirmations that I had received from her staff. Long story short, she was rude, unapologetic and unbending on the price.(we are only talking $140 total difference in price for the entire stay). One price was offered directly from the B & B reservations staff and now So Be You Bed & Breakfast is refusing to honor the given rate of $190 per night even though I have the printed emailed confirmation on an official So Be You Bed & Breakfast confirmation form. I would not recommend this B & B to anyone. I suggest staying at Indian Creek Hotel instead. Great service and a quiet location. Even if you do not stay at Indian Creek the restaurant is well worth the visit.
Sobeyou's management called us after we had booked several months ago and claimed that the rate that they had offered to us AND sent written confirmation for was incorrect and therefore, we could take the room at their published internet rate, or, basically, too bad....Their customer service was atrocious in this instance--THEY offfered a subtle discount when we phoned to reserve--we didn't ask for it. In fact, we had asked for more basic accommodation, but the Reservations agent suggested we take the upgrade, which she would be happy to offer at a slight discount.
The Sobeyou is a beautiful guesthouse in a superb central location on Jefferson Ave. The rooms are clean, bright and airy and face a lovely pool/deck area. The owners are extremely friendly and welcoming and really took the time to make me feel at home - Peanut the dog is great too! This guesthouse is a welcome change from faceless chain hotels and I highly recommend it. I'll certainly stay there on my next trip to Miami, and the rates are very reasonable too.
Exellent place to stay!
My husband and I recently stayed at SoBe You Bed and Breakfast. This was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and it certainly didn't disappoint us!! The grounds are beautiful and the rooms are spotless. This was one time where the website was not an exaggeration. The owner is very welcoming. The breakfasts are very gourmet, healthy and perfectly served. The rooms are very comfortable and quiet. We were never disturbed by surrounding guests. The pool/jacuzzi was very inviting. I highly recommend this property to anyone visiting the South Beach area. You won't be disappointed.
