A Hiker By Any Other Name Stinks Just As Much

A travel blog entry by jwatson on Apr 04, 2015

... tired and sore during the last 5 miles, which descended 2,400 feet. We camped out a mile from the Nantahala Outdoor Center, planning on hiking in to it in the morning for breakfast and then just going 7 miles for the day. At the shelter before the NOC, we ran into Smokescreen and it seemed like 2/3s of the people we knew on the trail. It was quite the enjoyable evening hanging out with everyone, even when some light rain sent everyone to their tents shortly before sunset. The NOC was ...

... delicious, and we left with those little "hats", crazy place!

The weather cooperated as we travelled along, temperature rising from 16 to 24. The clear blue skies would be perfect when we reached the Smokey Mountains. We prepare for this event, what else is there ...

He was asking if other hammockers wanted it, and I went ahead and took it to see if it was better than mine. When I checked ...

It's amazing how much a difference music makes while hiking. The first day, I didn't listen to anything because I was going to do at least one day of "pure" hiking. The second day was rainy and so short that I didn't bother, and I couldn't find my ear buds on the third. After I found them on my hammock, I turned on some music before a big climb on the fourth day, and wow. It was crazy how much more energy and stamina it seemed that I ...

Menu Item: Ham & Hash brown Omelet

Notes: Came with onions and 3 buttermilk pancakes also

Comments: It was good but not as good as I hoped. There wasn't enough substance to the omelet. The pancakes were just average.

Overall Impression: Below average omelet with average ...
