... an eternity. We arrived around 7.30 and grabbed some dinner.

We left the restaurant around 8.30 pm and at this stage we had no hotel booked for the night, no phone coverage, no detailed map to get us out of the maze that is the Adirondacks, it was dark and rain was pelting. For some reason our hangovers kicked in again.

Lake Placid village is crowded with shops and people so we carefully drove through the crowded narrow streets. We stopped at Adirondack scenic railroad but the train wasn't back yet from its twice daily run. I got a photo next to the caboose for documentation and we looked around the old classic train station which is now a ...

We were not excited about Vergennes. The water fall was nice, the town green community concert was cute, but the river was brown, the town was not vibrant and it was too hot. So we left early in the morning to make our way south to the Lake Champlain Bridge that was rebuilt and dedicated just a year ago. The trip down this narrow part of the lake was spectacular with the Adirondacks towering over us on our right and the ...
