... decided they'd come to Branson with us for the afternoon and overnight. Such serendipity! We had ended up parked across from them in Minnesota (totally by accident) just last month!
We enjoyed our time in Branson - used the indoor pool at Treasure Lake (outdoor pool closed Labor Day, despite the 90+ degree temps!), and we had a wonderful evening of entertainment ...

I have also crossed a line somewhere, the Arkansas border I believe, where every person involved in a retail setting has dropped 15 IQ points and become slack jawed. After I gas up, paying at the pump first, I looked around for the windshield cleaning squeegee. Seeing none I go inside and ask the slack jawed Delta-yeller lady. After a great nights rest and a fine breakfast we set off again with Mumsie and Jasmin deciding that after reading all the Route 66 guide books and maps, that they would do some navigation! Well, all went well for the first HALF HOUR!!!!!! Then quite suddenly we found ourselves on a one lane, luckily sealed, road in the middle of a guy's ranch, surrounded by soy beans and corn, with both the girls denying all responsibility!!!! ...

... we had won 2 tickets to see "A Tribute to John Denver". Geez what a great way to start our mini-family reunion.

Linda's brother Bill was arriving from New Jersey on August 4 and staying for 2 weeks. We couldn't wait. Bill's flight was not the best as the outbound flight from Philadelphia was delayed 20 minutes. This of course caused his connecting flight window extremely tight. He ran to the gate only to find the gate closed but visible ...
