We also saw a firefly. We were watching the sky and at first thought it was a plane but it kept coming closer and closer until it flew past us. It really looked like it had a green/yellow LED light that it turned on every few seconds to see where it was going. Amazing. (Of course they are not using the light for illumination but to signal other fireflies.)

Thunder Bay, Thunder Bay, what's to say. I got in town just as the storm rolled in. The teller at the LCBO said to go to Miller Island Marshes and I'd get the best view of the Sleeping Giant and maybe see some deer too. Of course, it started to pour. It was a bit of fore-shadowing for the day.

Our plan is to go through International Falls and then get to Bemidji MN for the night! We thought because we are so far up north we would have cool temperatures but it is pretty warm - the next few days the temps will be in the 80s. Totally unexpected!! ...
