    From Harold's bay to Stilbaai

We set out after a not so great morning in Harold’s. The effects of the spider bite are really getting to me. By now all I can think of is being in a house with all its luxuries just a couple of hours away.

The road to Vleesbaai is a dirt road. They are working on it at the moment and had a couple of delays to control the "traffic". Have a look at the “picture that paints a thousand ...

After a nice visit in Gans Bay with Brenda and Jorge I am now in Albertina at the beautiful Garden Route Game lodge for one night. This place was suggested to me by Svea, my Cape Town couchsurfing host. She alerted me to a special rate they were offering which was almost 1/3 of the website advertised cost. ... afternoon. Took table outside and had dinner watching the sunset. Later we played town and country, a storytelling game for a bit, attempted our own verison of articulate and the name game before getting sleepy. Most of then snuck outside and looked at the stars before going to bed, with no street lights or anything else - the sky looked so ...

Garden Route Game Lodge / Baz Bus

Another early start (6am), we made our way to the baz bus pick up stop and waited patiently. The baz bus is the best way to get around South Africa if you are a backpacker. You basically can hop on and hop off or just use it as a taxi. Its not cheap and you need to prebook everything but it is safe and reliable. It cost us 750 rand for a return from Cape Town to Albertinia, about 320km each way. The bus was an hour late due to a puncture but once we got ...
