Feb 6- drive about 4 hours to Khajuraho. Home to India's famous temples filled with beautiful, intricate, erotic sculpture they are now a World Heritage Site. Built between 950 and 1050 AD they were lost for centuries then rediscovered in 1839 by a British engineer. The 20 ...

... we managed to map out a route and book transportation, I think we had to cut about 50% of what we had flagged. It's a trade off. On the one hand we want to make the most of the trip; we want to see as much as we can. On the other hand, it's a vacation and there needs to be time for relaxation. There would be no point in exhausting ourselves in the pursuit of cramming in 1 or 2 more stops along the way.

We drove through miles and miles of GMO corn, soybean, and canola fields to finally arrive in Denver. We stopped at a dispensary but it wasn't the wonderous candystore style shopping we'd imagined it to be. Everything was in sealed packages and you couldn't buy less than an eighth at a time. Oh well.

      As Good as it Gets

... home with sleeping kids just after 11pm Mountain Time, 25 hours after we began at the HIX.

I was a little worried that with all this sleeping in planes and in the car combined with westbound jet lag, the kids wouldn't sleep through the night, but they did - right on up to 7am (D) and beyond (C).

It was more successful than I dared hope. And in hindsight, in spite of MEMEs and chocolate overload, a really, really fun trip.
