DAY 5 - IOWA - BEEN AND GONEWe decided to bite the bullet and travel straight through Iowa to Nebraska. Tim was a little worried at one point when a vehicle pulling a tent trailer zipped by us, (thinking it was our competition for the ideal campsite later that day). Unfortunately it was delayed for 2 hours due to rain, so we only stayed for the first half (until10.30!) and then Mark watched the end back at Mike's on TV. western things. After that, we went off to a town called "The Wall Drug" and
this town lies an enriching story behind it. Basically, a woman came about an
ordinary store and overtime many began to hear about it and its been expanding
into different stores and restaurants till this day. Again, we were in our
walking groups and did some more shopping. After shopping, soon enough everyone
returned onto the bus and ...
... by "This has been a test of the Emergency Broadcast System. In the event of a real emergency....." This was very scary but very exciting nonetheless. (My cousins were completely bored with it all and thought I was really weird.)
We drove through miles and miles of GMO corn, soybean, and canola fields to finally arrive in Denver. We stopped at a dispensary but it wasn't the wonderous candystore style shopping we'd imagined it to be. Everything was in sealed packages and you couldn't buy less than an eighth at a time. Oh well.
Next we stopped and got food at this really cool vegan restaurant called Native Foods Cafe. The food was ...
