... in it was fabulous but the theme was the Doom and Gloom of WW1. It was ok but a bit morbid, did you know that prior to that war Germany controlled the Solomon and Cocos islands and Australia and New Zealand took it off them? Me neither. Anyway through great forests, mountains, crystal clear streams, saw three motorcycle crashes and helped one bloke bring his bike back onto the roadway. Wednesday 15th October An easier day today, thank goodness, though we were pleased with how well we pulled up after yesterday's efforts. An easy 10km walk today. From town found the track that wound it's way through the suburbs and then farms till these petered out as well and we were just in ...

Friday 10th October Leisurely breakfast this morning and time to catch up on news before catching the bus to Bad Ischl, about 70 km east of Salzburg. Bus journey was through lovely green pastures with plenty of cattle grazing. Even saw some with bells on! Stopped at a lovely little village Fuschl on the most picturesque lake. Such an idyllic view. Bus only went as far as St Gilgen (on another lake) so had to wait about half an hour to ...
