... plateau down into the cave through small cracks. In the higher part of the cave, the dripping water hits the limestone rock and creates stalactites. However, the further you go into the caves, the colder the air so when the water penetrates deeper into the caves, it freezes and forms magnificent ice shapes. During the summer warm arm flows into the caves and cause melting, but during the winter, the ice caves grow because of the freezing air flowing into the caves.

... the number of Chinese citizens and tour groups we saw.

Anyway, besides all the Chinese citizens, we also saw some lovely local crafts (and an awful lot of kitschy stuff .... the town was a little too touristy for me I am afraid). I did, however, find found a beautiful sweater I wanted to buy so we wandered into the store and I made the purchase. This small little getaway town, felt like Austria's very own "Banff" if you will.

We met with 38 other people, including Ben's mom, dad and uncle John. And got to know more about the Freudenthaler history. Hearing stories and sharing photographs from the past, especially special for us were photographs of Ben's grandpa Alfred.
