... distance away, but had a good vantage point as the bear looked up at us now and again, but was not concerned as we were far enough away. Brilliant!

On to Yosemite Village, where we visited the Ansell Adams gallery which had lots of things I could have given houseroom. Not just his wonderful photographs, which I love, but also some interesting books, pottery, jewellery and fabulous glass baubles in different colours, with silver metal thread going round them.

... they allow 1 carry-on for overhead but it can only be 8 Kg (17 lbs.), 10 Kg. (22 lbs.) if you have a laptop. My camera gear alone, and I'm only taking 1/2 of it, weighs 20 lbs. I'm hoping to fool the system by counting my camera bag as my purse. If they make us check a second bag it will cost €100 (that's about $140.) Yikes!!! We'll see how that goes.
