At the Conway end of the trail we were give some great advice from the information centre about what to see and how to experience the National Park to the fullest given the weather. There were covered bridges, waterfalls, ponds, mountain views (albeit misty) and towards the end as the weather cleared, we walked the 'track to trail' along the river. 87 degree temps does not encourage fall colors! However, a stop at Ben @ Jerry's eased the warm day. Crossed from VT to NY via Lake Champlain ferry ($23). We made our way up through Smugglers Notch through Stowe. I think Stowe is my kind of town but we couldn’t really afford to stay there so we are spending the night in Jeffersonville, VT which is at the other end of the 108 from Stowe ...
