After almost 8 hours on the road we finally made it to Escanaba and our lodging for the night: Sunset Lodge, an independent locally owned motel. They were very welcoming of us and our hounds. A late night bite at Hudsons Bar and Grill and fast asleep. The next morning we woke and did some work before hitting the road around 10:30a to St ...

We pulled out of Mike and Terri's about ten minutes after nine o'clock and headed north towards the U.P. Cindy stared out the window as we pulled through Charlevoix and Petoskey for the last time, soaking in the sights one last time. I told MTC that I felt like a cat with nine lives and I had used 10 lives today. I thanked the heavens for allowing me to survive this day of horror. I renewed my vow to "go with the gut" and to be mindful to silence the ego of imprudent goals.

We drove to Escanaba, a city of 13,140, and ...

It is hard to believe that we left Hiawassee 3 weeks ago today. The days are flying by and this trip is all we had hoped it would be. We left Sturgeon Bay WI yesterday and arrived in Rapid City, Mi. Will be here total of 2 nights. Need to catch up on Sturgeon Bay: It was cool during our visit and a couple of nights we cracked the heat on. The local folks are still waiting for their summer to arrive before fall starts in September. Despite the severe winter ...
