Day 55. Maine One last drive through Bar Harbour and Acadia NP to North Bar Harbour for breakfast - much prettier and quieter - the coastline was sparkling in the morning sun. The drive south reinforced our feeling that Maine is a depressed state. The feeling started when we first crossed the border from New Hamshire. The welcome centre charged a $1 for a state map - so what you say - well it is the first state to do so and we have ...

The house that had been rented for the week was not large enough to accommodate all of us so the 4 Kiwis, Pete and Sebastian had places reserved in the campground 1 ...

    Hiking Monhegan

This was the perfect day trip (aside from the sea-sickening ferry ride over). We hiked around the coast and sea cliffs; it was breathtaking. We saw a ship wreck and just enjoyed the views. The hike was difficult, but worth it; it took us about 4 hours to complete the trail. After we made it back to town we ...
