... Veil Falls, we hiked about an hour in the HOT temperatures up to the base of the famous El Capitan. We hiked up to the Footstool Route ( 1-pitch, 5.4 ) located on the Southeast face of the base. We waited about 40 minutes for the route to go into the shade and cool down before we began climbing.
