... top up our energy levels before attempting a walk in the hot afternoon sunshine. We found the perfect picnic spot surrounded by amazing scenery and lots of wildlife.

My Dad was on binocular duty and we spotted Mule Deer, striking Blue Steller’s Jay birds and an American Robin. We were on guard for black bears, but none had been spotted so far.... maybe our picnic ...

... the games everyone was exhausted (more from the hiking than the games!) and so it was time to hit the sheets.

Day 88 - Goodbye Yosemite and hello San Fran

We woke up to glorious blue skies, what a shame we had to move on! Before leaving Yosemite we wanted to see some final sights and had planned to go visit the Hetch Hetchy reservoir in the north west of the national park, just 20 minutes away.

ok, enough about the dog...The depth and magnificence of the Sierras is breathtaking. The drive south along hwy 120 is winding and slow, but the weather was picture perfect.

... Lots of uphill walking, tall rocky stairs and not a whole lot to hold onto. It was still a lot of fun though, and everyone felt a sense of achievement when we made it to the top. We then decided that as a reward, we would eat our lunch there before continuing on.
