Luckily the temperature stayed down overnight so we could sleep straight through apart from for me to wake up to cough and cough. I haven't felt good for a few days now…just a real chesty cough which I’m hoping will pass with more fresh air and lots of water! We headed into Yosemite and parked up then used the free shuttle for the rest of the day. There were 2 hikes we went on… ***********e easy as I wasn’t sure how I’d cope since ...

The rest of the way is hot, flat, mostly straight, and quite boring.

We roll through Los Banos, Spanish for “the baths.” It’s named after a spring that feeds natural wetlands in the western San Joaquin Valley. We are a long way from the ocean, but the elevation here is ...

normal capacity. Beautiful to see but not as exciting as it could have
been if it was in full force.

The National Parks are less primitive
that I expected. Both Grand Canyon and Yosemite have bus systems to
take you further along the trail than most people would be able to

... Kate's multitude of bear related questions.

As we curved around the valley, we approached the first of the 3 waterfalls en route: Illouette Falls. We were in Yosemite in the perfect month for the waterfalls, as all but one dry out in the summer after the snow melt has finished. We found some rocks by the creek above the falls and took a break for lunch.

After 15 minutes or so we were fuelled up again and so carried on to the mouth of the falls which let ...
