Today was a relaxing driving tour of the upscale vacation retreat towns called “The Hamptons”. Apparently this is the weekend getaway region for the rich and famous of New York.
Our first stop was Southampton. The town centre comprised about 4 or 5 blocks of swank shops set in mostly small 18th and 19th C storefronts, so it was all very cozy. The shops were still pretty quiet at 10:30 am ...
... driving about four times as far as we needed to we finally found the restaurant!! And the kitchen was closed.
So we went back down the road, or was it up the road, and found another tavern. They didn't have much in the way of seafood so Armando had prime rib and I had soup and a "stuffie" - not sure exactly what it was - it was okay. Maybe tomorrow we can finally find some clams.

After morning exercise, Jane and I drove to a needlepoint store in Barrington, RI. The Picket Fence was a quaint little needlepoint store. We enjoyed the drive, lovely scenery along the coast. After lunch at the Black Pearl, Jane, Buddy & I drove around the area to see the historic mansions.
