    ... a sweetheart! Next night we also went out again but knew there couldn't be anything there as I was going travelling. Chelsea arrived the next day into Nanaimo we had to drop hunter off but the BMW broke down so mum had to drive it island and pick us up and the we dropped hunter off! From there we got home and went out for some drinks downtown and some how managed to make friends and stay at their place that night! Had a lovely breakfast downtown with Chelsea the next morning and ...

    ... Just too many to mention. The whole thing was a blast!

    Best hotel: 1) Sonora - could it be anywhere else??!; 2) The Inn at Vanessie, Santa Fe, NM - gorgeous!

    Most welcome hotel: 1) Sullivan, MO - never have we been so glad to see a Super 8!!; 2) Holiday Inn Express, Grand Canyon, after our big hike

    Worst hotel room: 1) Kayenta - dark, dingy and 'aromatic'; 2) Travelodge, Campbell River

    Best meal: =1) Wynn ...

    ... the solstice with a Fernfest of music and beer and food. Held in the small town square there were all sorts of bands playing from funk to marimbas. Its the sort of festival where you are more likely to fall over a child decorating the sidewalk with chalk than you are a drunk.

    ... As before, the paths were split, so it was pretty impossible to get lost. We followed it round, right along the sea, and reached the Totem Poles about 1km in. Not entirely sure why they were there, or how the got there, but they were pretty cool.

    We got back on the path and carried on. Overhead and coming down to our right, we could see the floatplanes landing on the water, and further across the water at Canada Place (Vancouver's port) we could see a huge cruise ship ...
