The fish were sorted yesterday for ripeness. The females that were ready to spawn were placed in a large tube to keep them separate from the general population and placed back into the pool. The ripe males are placed in a mesh basket for safekeeping and placed back into the pool.

The apron face, shield and gloves are one's defense from flying fish parts as they are run through the blade. Its messy at best running those frozen fish through the band saw blade. Imagine what you, the walls and the floor would look like if cutting fresh fish! Yuck!
