Aswan to Luxor - Sleepers and sailing

Successfully passing through the gauntlet of pyramid/sphinx ornament sellers we made it to the boat and quickly charged past the other tours to make it to the temple. Travel Day to Luxor (Warning: Rant Alert)

The Ancient Capital of Luxor

We had seen so much in the ancient capital of Luxor, we felt that just walking around the Luxor temple was good enough. Then to finish off we browsed through the Luxor Museum, admiring artifacts from the temples we had recently visited. All in all, Luxor was the ancient capital, and for us, was the capital of our favourite sites in Egypt so far. So much history in one area. Good on you ...
Speed humps, chaos and a police escort...
... surely overkill. But it all seemed to work for them, everyone smiled and waved and seemed very relaxed indeed. We were the weirdos.
The followed the Nile south and the road took us through the Nile delta. The fields and banks of the river are so lush and fertile it is awesome to see, especially when you can see the desert in the background. There is field after field of green green green crops and so many palm trees.
