    ... OK, Maltese is a blend of Arabic and European languages... just like Moroccan Arabic... Here people study in their language--even in the university (using a couple new and recycled Latin letters for the sounds that don't exist in the Latin alphabet. They've created their own grammar code--they love their language, even though they know that it will be of no use to them outside of this island of less than half a million people.

    I came for a shipwreck and almost got wrecked myself!
