... before I had even left Australia. Would it live up to my expectations? As expected there were crowds of people, but once inside I found it peaceful and I wandered around in quiet solitude, sitting on the many benches - enjoying the atmosphere, soaking in the vistas of plants that were so perfect I had to remind myself that it was real. Off to Vancouver island for a few days, it's always so busy visiting family and everything but this time I planned to just see mum, frank, Shelley and grandma and that's what I did. I stayed in their upstairs room that they renovated which nice having my own area, the first morning I was doing a bunch of things for mum on her computer while sitting to the radio and then I heard that the whitecaps where playing the UNI in Victoria and you could meet the players! ...
... a large ground squirrel like animal sign declaring entrance to Manning Park. It was the wrong entrance but needed to capture ourselves with the animal none the less. Interesting fact, if you have ever driven through Ontario you will know every little bump in the road has a gi-normous animal representing their town. So, stay tuned for a thorough collection of us on top of, beside, and riding these mascots for you enjoyment....or maybe ours ;)
Manning Provincial Park, ...
... spent an hour or so looking around the illuminated gardens, but to be honest they weren’t illuminated enough so we could barely see anything.
We got into our car and joined the queue of traffic leaving the gardens (we were hoping that staying an hour after the fireworks would have meant there was no queue….we think everyone else had the same idea!). We got back knackered just before midnight.
