... the diamond trade. We tried to sample some of the rich history Antwerp has to offer by doing a walk of the city highlights but unfortunately were beaten back by the weather. We did see the beautiful Cathedral of Our Lady, one of the biggest Gothic cathedrals in Northern Europe and the Grote Markt which is the main square in the city where the town hall stands. ... know that hot chips originated in Belgium although they are more commonly eaten with mayo rather than ketchup (tomato sauce). In Germany they are just called pommes.
