    ... in Canadian colours and all peddling bikes as part of the cart and shouting and yahooing. It was something to do with a health promotion or fundraiser. Beside this were the very sedate horse drawn carriages that go from beside the Legislature Buildings. a real juxtaposition but lots of fun. As we walked home with the sun starting to set we stopped to watch a street performer juggling, etc with an intrigued crowd and using participants from the crowd..
    We walked 9.5 kms today.

    ... come for all of us and we all slowly got up and opened our stockings. Mum was so excited to open them all which was awesome so we did them first then had some breakfast. We all had a little nap after this as mum woke us up early to do the stockings, holly came over to visit and we opened some more presents and then we did gift exchange.. It was time again for another nap I always find Christmas to be exhustjng trip haha :) Grandma came over for dinner ...

    ... Empress of India. It was completed in 1908 a few years after she died. The hotel was designed by Francis Rattenbury, the
    same architect who designed the nearby Government Building. It is
    steeped in Edwardian opulence. Afternoon tea there is an event.
    We chose the Empress blend tea and were given a souvenir box of the same to take with us.

    It was a glorious day.

    We caught the 9:00am ferry to Vancouver. It was ridiculously hot but being surrounded by the mountains kind of took your attention away from the heat. To paint you a picture, I pretty much was the backseat driver from hell. Rob casually coasted through the mountains like a champ where as I looked like I was hitting the drop zone on a roller coaster; grasping the 'holy-**** handle bar' and stomping on the invisible passenger side brake like a mad-lady. ...

    The early displays in particular were really enjoyable. There were a number showing special historical events, especially battles. There was one showing a devastated town in Germany in 1945 as well as a Pioneer villages and some Civil War scenes. The highlight was a huge display representing the Trans Canada railway. It had displays representing important centres from Vancouver through the Hope area and on to Toronto and then ...
