... We have both discovered a new love for lobster! The sunsets here are phenomenal and it's a really pretty place but we struggled to find stuff to do for a day and a half in this ghost town. We even ventured further afield and went trekking in the woods where I spent an hour trying to photograph a squirrel. Holiday highlight. Everyone knows everyone here, which has always put me at unease. Next stop, hopefully some signs of life at ...

... know my trees very well), but there are still a lot of them. I've rented a house in Wellfleet and the area is thick with pine trees. It reminds me of an older, quainter version of Stinson Beach, but where a Stinson house might have one scrubby pine, the lot of this house has at least six, and it's like that all the way down to the water. It's amazing what a little rain can do (or a lot of rain, as the case may be tonight).

... openness. Although it was a bit of a cold grey day, the town was still colorful and filled with life. We started off by visiting their library and taking advantage of their wifi. It wasn’t the most peaceful library though as it is also a huge tourist attraction. There is a big old sailboat right in the center of it. The library used to be a museum but went bankrupt and became the town library. They couldn’t remove the giant boat so it just became part of the book shelves. ...

      Hmm I’m craving Sandwich?

A travel blog entry by ktchris on Oct 18, 2014

... Cod was an island. Well originally it wasn’t an island but ships got tired of driving around it so they dug a big canal, built a bridge and an island was born! Human ingenuity is amazing sometimes. We stayed at a fantastic little campsite in Sandwich. It was a nice change of pace from all the brightly lit and loud Wal-Mart’s we had been staying at recently. The night was warm and dark and so quiet that we had no trouble sleeping at ...

... we missed it. We made it to the end of the trail after running about 4 miles. There is a bike shop there, Barb's Bike Shop and several not that attractive strip malls, with stores like Dunkin’ Donuts, Marshalls, and a Stop&Shop. Not really charming quintessential Cape Cod. Unfortunately, Dennis Port, with its beaches and shops, is quite far from the trailhead and we were two exhausted to walk ...
