... hot for staying
at too many freedom camping spots without air conditioning so we went
to Magic River Resort near Guildport Mississippi. $18 a night with
Passport America, a pool (which half the family is using while I type

very quiet stop with only 15 RV spaces. Tomorrow we head to Louisiana
and maybe a stop in New Orleans if we can Google how that will work

... nice area but it seems it's always been the poor black neighbourhood. We left New Orleans on highway 10 but then went on to the smaller 90 nearer the coast, unfortunately we joined just after Waveland which we discovered later was pretty much wiped out by Katrina and still recovering. I was completely blown away when I saw the beach - the sand was pure white, I thought the beaches around San Diego were good but these were unbelievable. It just ...

... to doing so alone, including accounting for personal safety factors. You have to prepare for contingencies that might include not having a travel companion (such as roadside emergencies, etc). You have to be prepared to confidently interact with strangers more often along the way. You have to be prepared to find yourself in settings where the majority of other people around you are with companions (having a smartphone and/or other reading material on ...
