... Greg provided us with information on the four islands that are served by the ferry. He assured us that each island had it's own unique culture. We have his word "as a politician, fisherman and realtor." I neglected to write down what exactly he said that about, but I don't doubt that each island has it’s own feel.

Day 27 was mainly a boring travelling day for us. We checked out of our hostel and got the Victoria Clipper catamaran ferry from Seattle to Victoria which took just under 3 hours. We were glad to be leaving Seattle as woke up to rain. Once we arrived in Victoria, and had gone through Canadian Customs, we contemplated walking the 25 minutes to our hostel with our rucksacks but fortunately came to our senses and got a cab. It's also located at a marina so it's a bit windy but we have a decent view, and once again can watch the cruise ships come in and go out... After two nights in Friday Harbour we boarded our ferry for Sidney BC. A pleasant 90 minute crossing and we arrived at the Sidney Ferry terminal. Another beautiful day. A nice ride along the Lochside trail through Sidney, quickly turned in to a sprint to Swartz Bay as we calculated that we had time to make the noon ferry versus waiting for the 1 PM ferry.
