Avoca Beach, New South Wales, Australia kevsharon... leave the climb for another day. He didn’t want to pass out at the top of the bridge through lack of food!
We went down to Circular Quay where the ferry terminals are, and found lots of food places there. Hughie had scrambled egg on toast for $8.80, (about £4.50) which had 2 slices of toast, a pile of eggs, fried tomato, and chips as well! I opted for raisin toast which is a popular thing here. 2 thick slices with ...
... the rooms and they were alot cleaner than the place were currently at and the whole place seemed to have a better atmoshpere. She asked us where we were currently staying so explained that we were staying up the hill at the Sugarshack and she told us that thats who they have just bought this place from. In fairness there was alot of activity going on there with people taking out old furniture and bedding, so we decided to stay there from Saturday til Tuesday ...
Sydney, Australia gaz-ljRight now is the calm before the storm.
If I've said this phrase before it's because I really believe it.
It's good though, as this time affords me a chance to save money, research places to go/ things to do, and also mentally prepare myself for the journey ahead.
Right now the calm means 7 more weeks of working and living in Sydney (at least I'm going to be living in a cool neighborhood, and still enjoying the rest of my time here)
Then 1 ...
Next it was off to play barefoot bowls at Paddington Bowls Club. Dervs was expecting the club to be "full of 70 year old men, taking about the war". Cuzzy ...
... The Rocks has maintained some original architecture heritage and nowadays is an 'olde worlde' tourist trap home to exclusive shops, great waterfront restaurants and bars, and an interesting weekend market. Plenty to see and do and very refreshing being so close to the skyscrapers of the CBD. The next day we put on our running gear and did a jogging tour of the parks in Sydney. Starting in Hyde Park, we ran through a grand avenue of trees, past delightful ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia mikeandpaula_09... to a new room with an en suite which was a first. We also found a few nice cafe's and bars where we could get MEAT! glorious meat, steak in fact and red wine. Things we had been dreaming of for months were finally here on a plate in front of us, woo hoo. After seven weeks in India trialling the Vegetarian diet, I think we can safely say that we will be discontinuing with that particular diet. (Apologies to ...
Sydney, New South Wales, Australia pixelchick... pour ici bien sûr).

... plenty warm enough for an evening dip!! James went off with Lyns husband Graham to try his hand at surfing, and found that he wasn't too bad at it! He certainly enjoyed the experience of surfing in Australia at sunset! The next morning we were up aout 7am to go sea kayaking with Lyn! It was well worth the early start though, we saw Pelicans, Stingrays, and even an Eagle which was all pretty cool. Before we knew it three hours had passed ...
