Pont du Gard
On our way to Avignon we stopped to see the famous Pont du Gard. This bridge was part of the aquaduct built in the 1st century AD by the romans to bring water from Uzes to Nimes, about 30 kilometres. The bridge is all that remains of the aquaduct. It was an awesome sight stretching 275 metres and 48 metres high comprising of 3 levels of arches. Last day in Avignon/Arles
... was walking down a street in which every door was different. perhaps that's normal in france, but it was quite striking. i have attached some examples! Later in the day we found a bar and had a glass of champagne, which was nice but no better than good Australian champagne, which the French won't allow us to call champagne, as they have a patent on the name. Patience is key to Paradise
