      As we left West Yellowstone it was raining - what else - and the temperature was 49 degrees. However, the radar showed, and the skies confirmed, fairer weather to the northwest. Sure enough, after 20 miles the roads were dry and the temperature climbing.

      We are 47 miles south of Missoula at the house of a niece of Lu's. it is less than a mile to the Bitterroot River, and about 4037 population. We got here about 8:30pm after spending some time at the Bison Refuge. That area was pretty interesting, and we saw the Plains Bison, antelope, mule ear deer and a couple of birds in a 4 different zones. One can just imagine 150 years ago with hundreds of Bison ...
