Left New Orleans heading to Pensacola. First stop was at Bellengrath Gardens in Theodore. The gardens were beautiful and the house was very impressive. I still didn't see an alligator but did see a large Gar in the bayou. We had lunch in the cafe and most people went and put their bathers on for the beach. I will give 2 hours at the beach a miss. The state of Florida (our 10th state so far) has this funny bit that sticks out to the northwest along the top of the Gulf of Mexico - called the panhandle, it prevents Georgia having a southern coastline - and restricts Alabama to just a little bit. ... here! It is amazing! It's an Irish pub. Cool atmosphere, big portions. After dinner, Riley showed us the sights around town and took us to Pensacola Beach. We didn't stay out late because Evan and I want to get up early and head out. But it was nice to visit with a good friend before we left.
