Heading as far south as we could we were actually riding along various land bridges with ‘etangs’ (sorry, cannot do the accents. These are little areas of trapped water were lots of wildlife live). The most unique of all creatures that live here are Flamingos! Never had I ...

... as well about my situation in specific is that I really don't have a care in the world. Time is meaningless, as every minute, every second, is just ephemeral. What matters is what those seconds and minutes amount to. A whole experience. Worrying about tomorrow is useless. When traveling, I had no idea where I would be in 3 days. 2 days was the maximum I would allow myself to look into the future. As a result, time ...

Change in Plans

So I'm going to nix Portugal from my plans. I started getting a bad feeling when I called them the other day in order to confirm my arrival and they had no idea who I was. Maybe I spoke too fast, but they seemed really confused by my arrival. I sent an email to the guy and he seemed really mad that my dates kept changing and he told me it wasn't worth their time if I came less ...

1st night.

Well, finally - after a false start setting out to pick up friends from Pau airport a day early! - first night: moored up alongside the Canal du Midi, just south of Beziers. Some very noisy ducks for company... Bit of a gloomy one weather-wise. Rained last night, but forecast suggests brightening up gradually as day goes on. Slowing our departure from ...

It has to start somewhere...

... it feels like the beginning of every vacation but I know that it's not. I have to take it one day at a time and see what happens. I already have a lot of fun plans ahead of me, though. I will be eating dinner at my sister's house tonight, where my little nephews, Leo and Valentin, are very eager to see me. I found notes on my pillows when I got to my Dad's from them, saying that ...

"Allo Pysnoo. Serais-tu intéressé pour partir en Hollande?
Euh??? Ais-je le choix?
Bah en fait, pas vraiment!

We then travelled back to a small town called Lunas where we had dinner in the fab chateau Lunas overlooking the river through the middle of town

... why not" and headed up the hil like mountain goats with Graeme and Sam leading the way. We made it to the top and were rewarded with great views and a sense of achievement (I guess)

After we got back down it was off to the lovely town of Salasc for a couple of well earned beers before heading back to the house for a late night session of chewing the fat and reminiscing

Here's what we've been up to!

... which does not seem to be all that uncommon in Italy. After catching the next train and getting reacquainted with our car we were off to Lake Como or so we thought. First the kids were hungry again so we stopped in a nondescript part of La Spezia and met a small ristorante owner named Moritzio. The kids had a margarita pizza again and we had some foccaccia bread and other simple local specialties. It turned out to be quite the find with excellent food at a great price. The gentleman ...

Shame walking down the road. Every time we get a ...
