... slow motion and nothing you can do to help. There are these poles in the middle of the trail to prevent cars from driving on the trails and someone ran smack into it and flipped over the bike. She ended up being fine other than a cut chin and a big fright. Glad I brought the spray I was given to for my knee so I can be of a bit of help. She was a trooper and got back on and we continued the ride. Had nice conversation with fellow bikers as we traveled through this nice town. ...

... sculpture you have to pay €2. Money well spent! We head off tomorrow back to Brussels to get a train to Paris, but i am so glad we made the extra journey to Bruges. It is a beautiful city where the people understand the importance of preserving their heritage and working with it not against it. I would definitely recommend a stop in Bruges to anyone planning a European trip. You won't be disappointed! Next time we write will be from Paris!!! Jess and ...

... considering it's so great. It's violent and unpredictable, which is really what makes it so fun.
In the film, Bruges is sort of a boring place. Lots of swans and churches and canals. But for some reason that appeals to us. So it became our first city break from London.
We took the Eurostar at 10:58 to Brussels, and from there caught the Intercity train to Bruges. So in three hours we were all that way. It was like teleporting.

Brugge at Christmas

... missed the last time I was in Brugge- the Christmas Market. I must admit, I was really impressed. The skating rink that was being built the last time I was here was completed, there were little booths for all kinds of Christmas gifts and trinkets, and the food. Wow, was it amazing! There were sausages, seafood, french fries, mulled wine, roasted nuts, pastries, churros etc etc. I could go on for quite some time describing the food.
