After a while we pulled off the main highway and headed cross country so get a better picture of real life on the prairies. A beaver ran out in front of us to much excitement.
Farming seems to involve crops from irrigated fields. There were hay bales all around and farmers were taking advantage of the warm, dry days to cut the grass. Some things are the same the world over.

... dropped off and Emile and Karen still had another 45 minutes to drive. Poor woman she had to work today. Teddy was happy to see us taking turns running back and forth for petting. He did much better staying at home with the help of my friends upstairs and Ike. My bed felt good as did my doggy all curled up with me. It was a good holiday, fun, interesting, emotional and best of all shared with family.

Then he looks at me & I see a bird has got him *splat* right between the eyes - no idea how it got him there but we could both not stop laughing. We arrived at Brian and Angelina’s house at around 7:30p.m. and had an excellent night catching up. Fabulous dinner… chicken and a local greek salad dressing that was just SO AWESOME. We stayed up late, and can’t wait to just chill out and cuddle with our new niece all day tomorrow. And sushi ...
My last day in Vancouver was spent running last minute errands and having a walk around Gastown. They have a store called Army and Navy which is like Cheaps as Chips and instead of going to the movies, I bought a few cheap ones. The one I watched was called The Good Night and was perhaps the most bizarre movie I have ever seen! I was going to get an early night, but after nacho salad for dinner, having a few beers and watching Kick Ass I didn't get to bed until 1am. I said my goodbyes ...
