Phnom Penh
I finally reached Cambodia 2 days ago after a day in Kuala Lumpur.
The first impression of Phnom Penh is overwhelmingly the traffic. As soon as you drive out the airport it is utter chaos. At first I wasn't sure which side of the road they drove on. Some of the time I don't think the locals do, or care! There are hundreds of motor cycles and …
Angkor Wat
Arrived here 3 days ago.It is much more relaxed here than Phnom Penh, although the traffic is just as chaotic, if a little less of it! My bus journey wasn't the greatest, constant buffeting and honking of horns. The aircon was a little exuberant-my feet were cold, though perhaps not helped by the fact that they'd swollen up from moschito bites. …
Alice on ancient rubble
Typically the morning we left Ton Sai, after 2 hours sleep and with just enough Baht scrapped together for the boat to Au Nang, the clouds parted, the sky turned luminous blue and the sun beat down on our Mojito beaten bodies. But it was still lovely to see and it did follow us to Cambodia. We spent one night at a hostel in kuala Lumpar, which was …

The ancient city of Angkor
Our first day in Angkor was incredble there is no other word for it! We spent over two hours at Angkor Wat alone where we wandered round looking at the 1000 year old reliefs. They were amazingly well preserved and depicted all sorts of legends and battles. After Angkor Wat we headed to the Bayon. Hundreds of slightly creepy faces cover this temple …

TravelPod Member ReviewsRosy Guest House Siem Reap
We were supposed to stay here for 4 nights, but loved it so much we ended up there for 6. The room was clean, spacious, and very well equipped - fan, air con, tv (with cable - BBC, CNN etc), fridge, and very comfortable beds. They helped us arrange a taxi from the border crossing at Poipet, then when we arrived helped us organise our vietnam visas, and our onward travel to phnom penh.
On the last evening I was very sick, so Rosy's organised a tuktuk to take us to a clinic they had used before. They were very helpful and friendly - our favourite hotel so far in SE asia!

This is a really great place. We stayed in the cheaper fan double room. It isn't that spacy but the amenities here are great. The food, western or asian, is some of the best I have tasted traveling three months around asia.
