Long 563 Mile day to Kentucky. Slippery start to the day today. Blowing snow and black ice in Northern Ohio. Second-guessing my decision to drive, but stupidity took over and I plugged ahead. I took my sweet time, and things cleared up nicely south of Columbus, Ohio.

Started the day on a tour of Carter Cave. There were enough bats flying around that we started calling Clay 'Robin'. The tour ended with seeing a waterfall in the cave. Very Cool. Next stop was Fort Boonesborough. This is the town founded by Daniel Boone. We got to see what life was like for the Kentucky pioneers in 1775. We saw a weaver, a carpenter, and a blacksmith. We also got to watch as they made charcoal. You simply start a fire, then cover it with dirt and ...

... and other animals that they take care of. All of these animals were brought to the center because they were injured or sick and could not live in the wild. The local art fair was amazing. It was far bigger than we thought it would be with unusual art work.
