... It's definitely a trip I would like to make again, perhaps when people visit, or even for a few days just to really enjoy the scenic environment. I feel as if the pictures that I got did not really do the place justice, but maybe I'll go back on a rare sunny day and see what I can do!

We began our hike walking through fields with grazing sheep. Laura adores sheep and spent much of the time trying to pet them. Most of them just ran in the opposite direction. We bagan by hiking past the base of the gorgeous waterfall and then we went up! We hiked to an elevation equivalent to the top of the waterfall and then hiked up another couple hundred feet. So we went back to Muckross House and started our walk from there. It started off really nice, going through some green fields with some great big trees. It really reminded me of how I’d imagined a manor’s grounds would look. But then most of the hike went through some dark, uninteresting woods.

The rental car was right outside, and as soon as we stepped out of the doors we were confronted by a bone-chilling wind.
