    ... was inevitable. ****.

So Heather and Carol came over Friday evening for dinner and animated conversation, then Saturday we ran around getting stuff at Fred Meyer, reorganizing storage in anticipation of leaving a bunch of stuff at Kims. Saturday afternoon went to Heather's graduation at CWU on a crystal clear day, slight breeze, warmish, but not bad. When we saw 3,000+ graduates, and assuming they would be reading each graduate ...

... the pics. Never having seen one before, we were both surprised and elated at the experience.

Then, off to reality and a drive to the laundromat.

... snow anywhere, even up on the tops of the VERY long hills we climbed. Lots of new snow up on the mountain tops. Three or four long climbs up (it's a drag when the trucks all pass you!) then long descents after, but it was like driving through a desert. Bare and miles and miles of nothing as far as you could see. Only really interesting view was the windmills up on the hills - dozens and dozens and dozens of them. Reminded us a lot of Drumheller ...

We arrived home about 7:00 PM last night. It is so good to be home. We made it through the whole trip without going the wrong direction and as we came through Othello, which is less than 100 miles from home, we took a wrong turn and went 30 miles out of our way before we turned around and headed back. Once on the right roads ...
