... deserts: Joshua Tree.

U2 were apparently inspired by it too...although one could mention that I too wish to throw my hands to heaven, much like Joshua and the branches of the tree named after him, whenever I hear a U2 song...

So off we set, Miss P and I, to this awe-inspiring park from Palm Springs.

We did not listen to U2.

How can I possibly describe the hugeness of this place? The big sky, the rocks, the sand, ...

... among them. The park also has a variety of wildlife including bighorn sheep, coyotes, tortoises and roadrunners ( beep,beep). But all I saw was a jackrabbit. Maybe they were all busy getting irradiated over in the closed-off areas. I must give kudos to California. If you stay away from the cities and people, the state has many fine parks and some great scenery. And no natural disasters befell me. ...
